My Family, Extended…Part 1

It is an amazing thing to see family “all growed up” and having families of their own. I can still remember the days of playing house with cousins Sarah and Josh. (by the way, why were we always a gypsy family who lived in a house made of blankets and chairs, and even though we were “married” we had separate rooms?) Rachel and Pam were already moved on to their Sweet Valley High days, and Amy was probably sewing purses or running a tractor into the pond (not a joke). So Sarah, Josh and I were our own little clan growing up. So many great memories were made with my cousins over the years, and I really love them dearly. When I visit, I get to see everyone (except Josh in NYC) because they all bought houses in the same neighborhood! It was a long time coming for me to stop by and do some photographs for them, and I think we got some incredible images. I really love you guys and am so proud to be considered part of your family! Kitty and Scott – you are nowhere to be seen this time but I will get you all together for a portrait soon. Thank you so much for making me feel at home in your lives.

Who are all these folks?! Sara and Travis (or is it Traverse) have this little crazy named Caiden, and Rachel and Chris were expecting a little brother, Torrin, for Tirzah. “Were”, because Torrin is here now! I stopped by in July to get some preggers photos of Rachel, and some wall portraits of Caiden, then came back for little Torrin at 7 days old just last week! Enjoy!

Here is what we got with the new little guy, Torrin. I am pretty humble about my photography, but I just have to say that this session was SPECTACULAR because of this incredible family and the cool things we got to do. Chris is an officer and K9 handler for the sheriff’s department, and Teddy and Raine are a big part of their lives. So of course we let Torrin get to know them quite well at 1 week old. Yes, He is 7 days old here. Three words, Hairy. Benjamin Button.

Joanna and Ben and their wonderfully big eyed daughter Maggie met up with me for a session that was gifted to them for their baby shower. A GREAT gift idea – just sayin’:) But I could not have been happier with little Maggie and her faces. As muggy and hot as it was, she was a lot of fun to work with and I think we got some cute stuff. Especially with the oversize raincoat! Props to mom and dad for picking that one out! If you want to hear more about what Maggie is up to you should check out her blog. You will have to ask Joanna and Ben how she learned to blog at such a young age!?

Barb has been talking about having me take some portraits once the new family addition came along. Well, Maggie is here and I made a trip up to Midland a couple of weeks ago. Allen and Izzy have a new little sister! Izzy and Allen, you guys were totally awesome and did a great job for me – Thanks! Unfortunately Maggie put up with us long enough when we tried to get mom involved:( I think we still got some cute ones still though.

Baby Elyse

Babies are a common thing with my friends of late and I got the honor of photographing little Elyse at just 7 days old. Beth and Ryan have a beautiful old home and I did the photos right in there living room. Hint for all you new mothers who want newborn portraits but are not able to leave the house with such a fragile new addition to the family – I do make house calls:)

But back to Elyse. After our first shot (see below) she was very photogenic, and by photogenic I mean she was calm and relaxed for our session. A beautiful little girl and so extraordinary to meet her at such a young age. I know that we will be seeing more of little Elyse in the year to come!

I am so happy to get some newborn and baby portraits to share with all of you!. Sara and Ben were good friends of mine in college, and it is so interesting to see my old friends in a new light. That new light for Ben and Sara is Parenthood! Bennett is such a little darling and very well mannered:) She was so good for the camera and I could not be happier. Ben is completely enthralled by her and Sara is a great mom and doing an incredible job this first time around! Thank you guys so much for introducing Baby Borich to me. It is exciting to think about watching her grow up!

I have to credit my sister with most of my business so far here in Cincinnati, because beyond all of her coworkers she even brought her dentist/orthodontist to me for portraits. Peter and Lori are also new to the Cincinnati area and have fairly recent addition to the family – a handsome little man, Thomas. He was so well behaved for the portraits and I couldn’t have asked for better help from Dad in getting him to laugh and smile for the camera.

Emily and Chris met up a few weekends ago with me for some fall family pics! What a crew they have – Jack, Kate and Lisla. They all fit their parts well. Jack is a gentle older brother who did a great job with his little sisters. I always find personality in kids so intriguing and a lot of fun, and jack has plenty of personality! Kate is an independent middle child and found her own things to do that day in the park. Loved her energy and she was nice enough to let me grab a few cute images during her adventure in the park. And Lisla, well she can’t do too much just yet, but she has the only blue eyes of the family and showed them off well. An incredible bunch you guys are!

Courtney, Mike, Addison, & Isla

Addison has a new little sister! Courtney and Mike just had a baby and I am proud that I had the opportunity to photograph the new addition to the family at only one month old! Wait until you look at the beautiful eyes that these kids have. Little Isla has some amazing strength and stamina for being so tiny. She gave me a few pushups to show off her clumsy coordination. Also, I want to thank Addison for sharing popsicle sticks with me and Pam…

Eddie, Aisela, Dominic, and Eric!!

I had the pleasure of photographing Eddie and Aisela, along with their two boys, Dominc and Eric. Dominic was a ham for the camera, not shy at all, and Eric was just very curious about the big lenses that were pointing at him – which made for some great portraits of those big dark eyes! We had a good time and even warned about stepping off of the path. We needed some good backdrop and we were careful not to trample the beautifully kept gardens at Ault Park.
