Cincinnati Wedding Photographer Kari + Nate

If you ask me what I love about my job, chances are you heard me say – the people. I love meeting new people, but it is also fantastic getting to know someone better that you already know. Kari is just such a person. What I found so intriguing about hanging out with Kari and Nate for our engagement session and lunch afterwords is how my perspectives have changed throughout the years, and that youth and a different attitude can skew our view of the world around us more than we realize. Kari and I were separated by a few years in high school. For those who don’t know, Kari is the youngest daughter of my kindergarten through high school principal and a pastor in my old church back in Midland, Pastor Mike (well Mr. Reece to me). And, Yes, I did spend a little time in the principal’s office – not always for good things. But I was surprised to see the treasure chest of goodies for the “good” kids still sitting elusively behind his big desk. Somebody needs to comment on this and remind me what that kid from each class was called. What a coveted spot that was!!! Ah, the memories… Sorry that was a tangent, but try to remember your elementary and high school days. What did your principal’s office look like? Were your visits greeted with crossed arms and a stern look or were you welcomed with open arms and allowed to collect your reward from the fabulous treasures awaiting you in the chest behind the desk?

Kari and Nate – thank you so much for letting me capture your day. I am so blessed to have people like you who love what I do, and let me be creative with you. After all, without the two of you, there would be no great images. Thank you for talking openly with me and for being people from whom I can learn and emulate. Enjoy!
